As you can imagine,
these complicated, expensive & time-consuming
processes can't even begin to compete with a
home utilizing the new technology created by
the recently invented system of kiln-dried logs.
California Builders logs on the other hand,
guarantee that the individual logs in a log
wall will never move; thereby eliminating the
need for expensive & complicated spring
loaded tie-down systems with ridiculously long
thru-bolts, heavy-duty springs, washers, nuts
& plates, floating headers over windows,
doors, etc.; as is a typical requirement with
conventional solid log home construction.
Just imagine never
having to worry about crawling under the floor
system of your new CBI kiln-dried log home periodically
to tighten the nuts & bolts over & over
again; as you would have to if you owned a air-dried
log home, every time your old fashioned conventional
solid logs in the walls shrink, settle, twist
or crack over the years.
Why build with cumbersome construction techniques
of a bygone era, when there is a recently invented
modern method available using kiln-dried logs
to get the same ambience and atmosphere?

There
is now no need to leave huge (2 inch to 6 inch)
air space gaps over all windows, doors, 2nd floors,
corners & openings as is required in solid
log wall construction techniques. Also, the individual
component members of laminated logs prevent knots
from falling all the way out (causing drafty air
thru-holes); and are designed to provide maximum
air tightness, thermal efficiency & stability.

Independent tests have shown that kiln-dried logs
achieve design stresses that are 50% greater than
those associated with even the best quality premium
grade traditional air-dried wood logs. In addition,
laminated logs can be ordered to combine various
wood species. Therefore, you as the customer have
greater design flexibility in choosing your own
particular style log appearance.
You can choose from a classic "D" shaped
log (round on the outside & square on the
inside) with a butt & pass corner, to a round
log with an old fashioned stockade corner, or
one of many shiplap profiles with a finished corner.
Laminated logs are available with either a single
or double tongue & groove configuration, featuring
an integral drip lip, designed to help shed moisture.
